Description

These beautiful bright orange/yellow flowers will add a wonderful splash of color to any space! Blooming all summer long, Marigolds have the added benefit of being an all natural pest deterrent, making them excellent companion to a plethora of plants!

BONUS: The flower petals are edible!!! With a palate of citrus, floral and spicy them to any dish to add a splash of color and flavor!

These are productive plants and grow 1-4 feet tall, depending on the variety.

Transplanting

When transplanting marigold seedlings, you should space them 12 to 24 inches apart, depending on the variety and whether you’re growing them in a pot or in the ground.

In the ground 

• Space plants 12 to 24 inches apart
• Space rows 18 to 24 inches apart
• Dig a hole deep enough to cover the root ball
• 6-12 hours of direct sunlight per day
• Water thoroughly and mulch to retain moisture
• Removing faded or dead flower heads will promote continuous blooms

In a pot

• Use a container that’s at least 12 inches across and has good drainage holes
• Select a pot that holds at least 5 gallons of potting mix
